BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA (November 15, 2012) – Blue Burro, Inc., a web application and management consulting firm, recently relocated to Bloomington, Indiana where it plans to grow employment in its web application division. The firm chose Bloomington based on the growing tech scene, geographical benefits, low cost and overall quality of life.
“We looked at a number of other cities and towns and chose Bloomington for its openness to new ideas, its appreciation of a healthy lifestyle and its vibrant technology sector,” said Chris Martoglio, CEO of Blue Burro. “We’ve been here just over two months and already Bloomington is exceeding our expectations for quality of life and opportunity for our business,” expressed Martoglio.
Blue Burro recently participated in Tech Cocktail and the Verge Pitch Power Hour as part of the 2012 Combine, Bloomington’s annual conference for technology and innovation. In addition, Martoglio served as a judge in the recent Bloomington Startup Weekend.
In October, Blue Burro presented to the BEDC Board of Directors to introduce themselves to area business leaders and highlight why they chose Bloomington as their new home. “It is gratifying that Blue Burro chose to relocate and grow their business in Bloomington,” said Ron Walker, President of the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC).
The company also maintains a presence in Deland, Florida but plans to grow the company from the Bloomington location. “Blue Burro is one of several quality technology companies that have relocated here in the past twelve months,” said Katie Birge, Project Assistant at Bloomington Technology Partnership, a tech talent attraction and networking initiative managed by the BEDC. “We are thrilled they have chosen Bloomington, and we look forward to their many contributions to the local tech sector.”
