Bloomington, IN (February 22, 2013) – Five companies and one individual from Bloomington have been announced as finalists for TechPoint’s 2013 Mira Awards. The Mira Awards honor technology companies and individuals across the state, and the winners of each category will be named at the 2013 Mira Awards Gala to be held on Saturday, April 20th.

The Finalists companies and their categories are, Mobile Technology Excellence & Innovation Award; SproutBox, IT/Tech Service Excellence & Innovation Award; Code Together, Innovation of the Year Award; CheddarGetter, Emerging Technology Company of the Year Award;, Tech Startup of the Year Award; and, Bloomingsoft, Health Information Technology Excellence & Innovation Award.

“It’s really exciting to see Bloomington technology companies producing memorable products and gaining traction in the market,” said SproutBox Co-Founder Brad Wisler. “The fact that the MIRA judges have taken notice is an indicator of just how active and engaged these companies are in the broader Indiana startup scene. I hope they’re able to bring a few trophies home.”

In addition to honoring tech companies and departments across the state, the Mira Awards also seek to recognize individual innovators and young professionals. Bloomington-based founder Gagan Dhillon was announced as a finalist for the Techpoint Young Professional of the Year award.
