On Tuesday, December 15th, the Bloomington Technology Partnership (BTP) hosted its annual Tech the Halls event, a celebration of the local tech sector’s achievements in 2015. Over 60 technology leaders, software developers and tech entrepreneurs were in attendance.
This year’s achievements included at least four office expansions, several new product releases and redesigns, and additional secured funding. Bloomington was named a 2015 Digital City by the Center for Digital Government, and 7 local companies or organizations were named 2015 Techpoint MIRA award finalists, a statewide annual award program.
Bloomington’s technology job growth also hit new highs in 2015. As of December 17th, 300 technology jobs have been posted on the Bloomington Technology Partnership website. In addition, 118 Monroe County Residents participated in Bloomington Code School, a workforce development program of the BTP.
