Local startups to have Fireside Chat with Guy Turner
BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA (March 28, 2017) – Bloomington entrepreneurs and fast-growing startups will meet today with Hyde Park Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital firm based in Chicago focused on high-growth technology startups in the Midwest. Local startups will attend an introductory lunch and fireside chat hosted by the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) and Cowork.
The fireside chat will feature Guy Turner, partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners, who will discuss fundraising best practices, hiring top talent for building a team, advice for scaling a business, and other startup and founder-friendly advice. Bloomington entrepreneur Pat East, Founder and CEO of Hanapin Marketing, will moderate.
“Bloomington’s startup community is gaining traction, and we’re thrilled to have a venture capital firm of this caliber recognize the energy around innovation in our community,” expressed Dana Palazzo, Vice President of the BEDC.
39 Degrees North will host the lunch to showcase their newly-renovated collaborative workspace for local startup companies. The fireside chat will be hosted at Cowork.
“This is a really big deal,” said Tyler Henke, Founder of Cowork and Product Manager at Elevate (a sister company to 39 Degrees North). “Hyde Park is one of the Midwest’s most valuable startup resources, and their interest in Bloomington speaks volumes about the strength of our entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
