Bloomington, Indiana (July 18, 2013) – Two Bloomington Companies, Envisage Technologies and Net Irrigate, have been named as two of this year’s 33 “Companies to Watch.” The accolade is presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Indiana Small Business Development Center network and the Edward Lowe Foundation.
The two companies were chosen from a selection of over 300 applicants that had six to 150 full-time employees and generated between $750,000 to $100 million in annual revenue or capital. Fourteen Counties were recognized across industries ranging from biotech research and robotic part design to gourmet flavor manufacturing and automotive safety.
Envisage Technologies works on first responder training modernization and automation. They are the developers of the Acadis® Readiness Suite. Acadis® is the only comprehensive Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) enterprise system to specifically address the unique and complex needs of law enforcement, public safety, and military training organizations. Acadis® is also designed to enhance response capability by providing vital first responder skills, training and location data to crisis managers during emergencies. This helps ensure that the right first responder is dispatched to the right location rapidly, which can save the lives of citizens.
Net Irrigate is a manufacturer of Wireless Agricultural Irrigation Monitoring (WAIM) technology. The company’s hardware and software solutions are designed to notify irrigators of costly events. Net Irrigate was founded in 2005 in Southern Indiana. The first business plan was hatched by two students who were pursuing their MBA degree fulltime at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Their respective backgrounds in agriculture, finance, software, and industrial automation led to the creation of technology which addresses the environmental, political, social, and economic issues related to rising farming costs and diminishing water resources.
