The Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) and local business resources began hosting Open Hours at WestGate on January 19th. Open Hours provides local entrepreneurs and small business owners the opportunity to interact with regional business support services. Organizations, such as the BEDC, Radius Indiana, Purdue University Manufacturing Extension Partnership, University of Southern Indiana, Indiana procurement Technical Assistance Center, South Central Indiana Small Business Development Center, Purdue Foundry, and The Gayle and Bill Cook Center for Entrepreneurship at Ivy Tech, will provide resources, trainings, and guidance to entrepreneurs interested in starting their own businesses or businessmen/women looking to expand their existing companies. The BEDC is confident that connecting local entrepreneurs with regional business services will help create new jobs in Bloomington and the surrounding counties.

Open Hours will be held on the third Tuesday of every month, no reservations required. For those interested in attending the next Open Hours, WestGate is located at 13598 East WestGate Drive, Odon, IN 47562. Located minutes away from NSWC Crane, WestGate Academy was built in 2012 to encourage greater collaboration between private companies and the naval base.
